Porter Hedges Advises U.S. Physical Therapy in the $76.5M Acquisition of Metro PT

Porter Hedges represented U.S. Physical Therapy, Inc. (“USPH”) (NYSE: USPH), a national operator of outpatient physical therapy clinics and provider of industrial injury prevention services, in its $76.5 million acquisition of a 50% equity interest in MSO Metro, LLC (“Metro PT”), a management services organization that provides management and administrative services to outpatient physical therapy clinics.

Founded in 1990, USPH owns and/or manages 750 outpatient physical therapy clinics in 43 states. Their clinics provide preventative and post-operative care for a variety of orthopedic-related disorders and sports-related injuries, treatment for neurologically-related injuries, and rehabilitation of injured workers.

Founded in 1982, Metro PT is one of the largest physical therapy platforms in the Northeast, managing 50 outpatient clinics mainly in New York, with plans for expansion into neighboring states.
