The Firm is pleased to announce Rahman Hasib as the recipient of the 2025 Porter Hedges 1L Fellowship.

Rahman is a first-year law student at the University of Houston Law Center. He graduated from The University of Texas at Austin (UT) with a bachelor’s degree in government and a minor in philosophy. While at UT, Rahman served as the co-president of the Undergraduate Moot Court and was the founder of UT Poker.

Rahman was selected from a competitive pool of highly qualified applicants from law schools across the country. As a fellowship recipient, he will receive a salaried Summer Associate position for 2025 in the Firm’s Houston office and the opportunity to earn up to $25,000 in stipends throughout his participation in the program.

“Our fellowship program reflects our ongoing commitment to fostering inclusivity and creating an environment where all talent can thrive, and we are excited to welcome Rahman to the firm as our most recent recipient,” said Joyce Soliman, Co-Managing Partner and chair of the Firm’s Diversity, Equity, Inclusion & Belonging Committee (DEIB).

The Porter Hedges 1L Fellowship is awarded annually to a first-year law student who has a strong commitment to promoting diversity and inclusion on their campus, in the community, and during their tenure with the Firm.

"We are proud to support and celebrate the next generation of legal talent through our fellowship program. Rahman exemplifies the qualities we value at our Firm and in our attorneys,” said Hiring Partner Joe Morrel.
