Porter Hedges Launches Diversity Scholarship at Texas Southern University

Porter Hedges is pleased to announce the launch of its Diversity Scholarship at Texas Southern University (TSU), one of the nation’s largest historically black colleges and universities.  Located in Houston, Texas, TSU has nearly 11,000 students enrolled and offers 120 baccalaureate, masters, and doctoral degree programs in nine schools and colleges. 

Porter Hedges created its Diversity Scholarship to recognize and assist an undergraduate student at TSU who is interested in pursuing a career in the legal profession upon graduation. The scholarship will give a talented student a real-world look at the practice of law and the many ways in which lawyers serve and contribute to their communities.

In addition to the scholarship award, the recipient will participate in a 9-month mentorship program, which includes a mentorship pairing with a Porter Hedges attorney and a third-year law student from Thurgood Marshall School of Law at TSU.
